Ebates.com, The Corrections, Top Chef, Petty, Mets

http://www.ebates.com/ is the most no-brainer website of all time.  Sign up in 5 seconds and receive discounts at over 1600 retailers when you shop on-line.  You still get the retailers discount if they are offering one.  You also get five bucks to sign up.  Downside?  I don't really see one.

Upset about Top Chef being over.  It is the ONLY cooking competition worth watching, and it actually is getting better season by season.  Excited to see what they pull out next.

Two reading suggestions i finished fairly recently.
First, reread Catcher in the Rye.  We all read it before we were Holden's age, reading it after you are his age will show you how much impact the reader can have on a novel.
Secondly, "The Corrections" by Franzen.  It won the pullitzer, but i am shocked by how few people have read it.  It is a little out there and starts slowly but is really incredible.

When i was young there were all these iconic bands that we kind of missed out on seeing live and experiencing while they were young.  It has always begged the question of who are going to be the bands that blow our kids away that are from our generation.  I used to think U2 was it, but then Bono became this character and it has watered down there musical appeal.  Lately, i think Petty and Pearl Jam are going to absolutely floor my kids when they start hijacking my music.  (I can't stop playing Face in the crowd by Petty)
*Note:  I only have one child

I can't believe it took this long for Elin to decide on divorce.  I guess the fourteenth mistress pushed her over the edge?

You as excited for Avatar as i am?

Met fans need to relax!   All of this pressure will not help mgmt. to make sound decisions.
Signing Ben Sheets, Justin Duscherer or Kelvim Escobar (or all of them) to incentive laden deals is the way to go.  With people coming off of injury you get the luxury of paying for performance.  If any of these guys play to their potential they will outperform the Pineiro's, Garlands and other middling pitchers that are still free agents.  If they don't work out, they get very little money.  Sounds fair to me.

And to reiterate, Derosa should be a priority.  His versatility provides a great hedge to all the uncertainty that surrounds the health and performance of this team as currently comprised.  He is a gamer, and a U.S. representative on the WBC squad.  SIGN HIM!

Happy Holidays and Easy Days,
TB
